His master replied, “Good job! You’re a good and faithful servant! You proved that you could be trusted with a small amount. I will put you in charge of a large amount. Come and share your master’s happiness.”
Matthew 25:21
What are you good at? Are you a good listener? A good promoter? Are you a good problem solver? A good teacher? What do you do well that could help a hurting world? When you have a talent that can improve the lives of those around you and you don’t use it, you lose it. In other words, God promises in Matthew 25 to increase what you already have whenever you invest it for the good of his children. When you use your talents to serve God, you will find yourself with more than you ever imagined. But if you refuse to use the talents he’s given you for good and instead you just let them rust or be used for evil, look out—the results could be disastrous. God didn’t give you your talent so that you could just go and bury it out of fear of rejection or failure. He gave it to you so that you could go out and do all that you can to invest it in the lives of those in need.
Don’t feel talented? Everyone has talent in something. Figure out what you are good at. Take a personality test or spiritual gifts inventory. Find out who you are and what you do best, and then do all you can to use those skills to serve others.
