Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man said, “Teacher, I want to see again.” Jesus told him, “Go, your faith has made you well.”

Mark 10:51–52

Y ou do not have because you do not believe. Jesus tells you to ask for anything in his name and it will be yours (see John 16:23–24), but if you don’t have faith in him to do it, then you won’t even think about asking. It’s your faith in him that will change your life, heal you, and take out the old and bring in the new. But when you choose worry over faith, you cut the very rope that was there to pull you up, and you stay in the messy goo of your worry and helplessness.

It’s super easy to doubt God’s ability to help you when you look at your past and think, I’ve always had this problem. When it’s a recurring issue, your mind starts to believe it’s an irreversible problem, and so you are afraid to ask God to change it. But you have to remember that God likes doing what seems absolutely impossible. If you want to become like Christ, if you want his will to be done in your life, if you seek God with all your heart and boldly walk into the throne room of your Father, he will take away your worry and finish the work that he started in you when you were saved. Be like Bartimaeus—have no fear, just believe.
