Those who live by the corrupt nature have the corrupt nature’s attitude.
But those who live by the spiritual nature have the spiritual nature’s attitude.

Romans 8:5

What do you want in life? What you want says a lot about who you are. If you could look at a piece of paper that lists everything a person thinks about, wants, and really loves, you could see the soul of that person. So what’s on your piece of paper? What is your focus in life, your obsession? If someone were to read your soul, what would they see?

If you aren’t sure of the answer, then it’s time to take an inventory. Find out what occupies most of your thoughts. Make a list. Keep a journal of the things you think about, want, and do. Write a small record of your soul. What is its focus and what takes up most of your mind space?

When you have the answer, then you’ll see where changes need to be made. No one’s thoughts are perfect, and no one spends enough time thinking about God, but that doesn’t mean you should just accept the status quo. You need to decide that your thoughts need a little cleaning up. How can you take your thoughts and attention off of the world and turn them to God? When you start to replace the worldly things in your life with God, your life will start to change. What used to bother you, you won’t even notice anymore. What you used to be afraid of will be nothing of importance. Change how your mind spends most of its time, and you’ll change your life!
