I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that all our ancestors who left Egypt . . . ate the same spiritual food, and all of them drank the same spiritual drink. They drank from the spiritual rock that went with them, and that rock was Christ.

1 Corinthians 10:1, 3–4

No matter how lonely you feel or how bad things look, don’t ever be deceived into thinking that God isn’t there with you, waiting for you to turn to him and be comforted. He is called Provider, and that isn’t just a part-time job. He always provides. Even when all seems to be lost, he is trustworthy.

When the Israelites wandered in the desert, they had no hope of finding food or drink, but God provided all they needed in the form of manna from heaven and water from rocks (see Exod. 16:4, 31; 17:6). The same God who gave them exactly what they needed is with you today. As a girl, you can easily let your emotions tell you that all is lost, but once you are saved, you are never again lost, even if you feel that way. You can’t let your circumstances try, to dictate the character of God. He is either God, ruler of all, or he isn’t. When the going gets tough, you have to be strong enough to confess that he is still God and you can still trust him, even more now than ever. Because if you can’t trust him with the hard times, what can you trust him with?
