Our suffering is light and temporary and is producing for us an eternal glory that is greater than anything we can imagine.
2 Corinthians 4:17
Y our worst fear has come true, and now you are faced with the one thing you thought you could never handle. How do you stand when it seems just too hard to go on? What do you do when your life seems to be on the verge of extinction?
You’ve got to do the opposite of what your instinct says: don’t fight, just surrender. Give up your will to God and stop fighting for your own way, your own survival. Sound illogical? Impossible? Well, it’s neither. The place you are now, at the end of your rope, is just the place you are supposed to be. Nothing happens to you unless God allows it to happen. And if God allowed it, then you can be sure it is the very best thing that could have happened to you. But your heart can only get that fact when you completely surrender to God. You can only win the battle when you submit to it.
Face your trial without fear and refuse to let it lead you to sin. Give your heart, soul, and mind to the one who loves you and will never leave you. Pain can only make you stronger if you don’t fear it, so give it to God, and then it will be used for your good instead of your destruction. Stop asking “Why me?” and start saying, “Yes, God, your will be done, not mine. I am content to suffer if that is your will, knowing that all this is just temporary, but life with you is eternal.”
