We can’t do anything against the truth but only to help the truth. We’re glad when we are weak and you are strong. We are also praying for your improvement.
2 Corinthians 13:8–9
Control your thoughts. No matter how impossible that sounds, you can do it. Don’t let your emotions tell you what to do or not do.
Faith has to do with believing, and belief takes place in the mind, not the emotions. That means faith doesn’t change with your emotions. It is strong and determined, relentless in the face of trials or fear. But your faith can only stay strong if you can keep your mind from wandering. Don’t let your mind take you to the place of fear or resentment. Don’t let your mind wallow in the emotions of grief or rejection. Your mind has to find its rest in faith. It needs to seek the higher ground of truth. You need to understand that emotions don’t respond to truth any more than a crying baby responds to a talking-to. It’s your mind that can take in truth and make it an instrument of change, in spite of your emotions.
Thought control is essential to the life of a God Girl. Without it your faith is gonna get weak and tired out, and in the end your emotions will turn your faith into doubt. But you can change all that by not always believing what you feel but instead leaning on what you know to be true about God and his Word. Even when everything screams against that truth, hold on to it as if your very life depended on it, because it just might.
