Don’t let sexual sin, perversion of any kind, or greed even be mentioned among you. This is not appropriate behavior for God’s holy people. It’s not right that dirty stories, foolish talk, or obscene jokes should be mentioned among you either. Instead, give thanks to God.

Ephesians 5:3–4

What comes out of your mouth gives away what’s in your heart. When you let yourself talk the way the world talks, you show that your heart prefers the world’s ways. In the life of the God Girl it’s not only what you do but what you say and even what you think that’s gonna be judged. And I don’t mean just judged by God, but also judged by the people who hear the thoughts coming out of your mouth and make a judgment about your faith. When you join in with people in joking and talking about ungodly stuff, you aren’t just listening to sin but participating in it. Before you knew the truth you joined in because you didn’t want to condemn them or to embarrass yourself, and that’s understandable. But now that you know the truth you can’t keep acting the way you used to. That would be a slap in God’s face. Whose judgment are you more afraid of, God’s or your friends’?

As a God Girl you are bound to see some changes in your life. The things you used to think were normal will start to disgust you because they disgust God. If you want to be accepted by people more than you want to be accepted by God, then you have to do all you can to say no to your heart’s desire to be loved and use your will to act and to think the way God wants you to. Don’t let your feelings of embarrassment determine your obedience to God.
