Then God’s peace, which goes beyond anything we can imagine, will guard your thoughts and emotions through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:7
One of the best signs of a life full of faith is peace. A faith-filled life doesn’t have room for worry and stress. Peace is a result of faith, so you can judge the distance you have come in your walk of faith by looking at the peace in your life. Do you have more peace now than you used to? More peace should always be your goal. It’s much better to be a poor person living in peace and contentment than a millionaire living with worry, grief, and fear.
Learn to master your emotions and set them on the path of faith instead of letting them stay in the rut of circumstance. If you want more peace and less stress, start with something small like not blowing up when you spill juice all over your white shirt or not having a fit when you get stuck behind a slow driver. Tell yourself that being calm in the face of this hassle is the price you are willing to pay for the peace that goes beyond anything you can imagine. Peace isn’t something that just happens; it requires some work on your part. But as you work toward peace through faith in the giver of everything good, you will find it coming easier and easier. Peace is the result of your faith and trust in God as the one who not only can handle it all but is involved in it all. Accept the peace that he offers as you work toward resisting any urge to sin that leads away from peace.
