Never stop praying.
1 Thessalonians 5:17
Once you stop analyzing and manipulating life and start living it, you can start to live in continual prayer. When you put your entire focus on the gift of God himself instead of on the troubles around you, that’s when continual prayer becomes something attainable. When the apostle Paul says, “Never stop praying,” you may laugh and say, “That’s not possible”—oh, but it is! When your focus is God and God alone, when what you want and need are the farthest thing from your mind but what others need is at the front of your mind, then you start to understand how you can pray continually.
Wanting something so badly that it becomes your obsession is an act of idolatry. Even if your obsession over it leads you to pray nonstop for it, if it’s something that you want for you, then it’s no longer about God. Then your worry and fear over not getting what you are praying for has become more important than him. If this is you, you have to decide that whatever he wants for you is what you want and decide to pray continually for others and for God’s will to be done. Then you will slowly be set free from the obsession that is starting to overtake your life like prayer should be overtaking your life.
