Chapter 30
Mimi
I wasn’t trying to throw the plan off schedule, so I didn’t take as long a shower as I would normally do. When I got out of the shower, Mark was already there, so I busted my ass to the room and got ready. Pulling the clothes out of the bag that Mark had gotten for us, I hurried up and threw them on, threw my hair into a ponytail, then went to meet them. When I walked in, they were already talking, but they stopped when I came in.
“What’s up?” I asked, taking a seat next to Jayden on the sofa.
“Nothing much, we were just going over the plan again,” Mark replied. “How are you feeling?”
“I’m okay,” I said to him.
“Okay, well are you ready?” he asked.
“I’m as ready as I’ll ever be,” I told him.
“Well, let’s get ready to do this,” Jayden said, getting up from the sofa. He then walked over to the closet and pulled a huge duffle bag out of it. Walking back over to where he was sitting, he placed the bag on the coffee table and opened it.
“Damn,” I said. My eyes bucked as I saw all of the guns that were in it. He reached in and pulled out two guns.
“Do you know how to handle this?” he asked as he passed them to me.
“Boy, please,” I said, taking the guns out of his hand. I then watched as he passed two to Troy, about three more to Mark, and then took his pick.
“Are you guys ready?” Mark asked, getting up from the sofa.
“Hold up. Wait a minute,” I said, stopping them. “Before we go, I just want to say thanks to all of you for everything that you’ve done and are about to do for me. I know I haven’t been the best person to get along with, and that I’ve been hardheaded, but I appreciate everything, and I’m thankful that you guys didn’t leave me when I needed y’all the most.”
“Ma, chill out. You acting like we ain’t coming back,” Jayden replied.
“Ya never know, we may not, and I just want to thank you all for everything.”
“You’re welcome,” he replied. “Now let’s go and get your kids back so that we can finally move on with our lives.”
“I love you, baby,” I said, giving him a kiss.
“I love you too,” he replied, and with that being said, we left out the door. We hopped into the car and were on our way to get my kids back. I was finally about to put this shit to rest, once and for all.
