The latest fire in town occurred last night on Powell near Fifteenth Street, centered around a boardinghouse. Severe property damage has displaced many, left dozens injured, and caused one death—Olmstead Secondary’s beloved alchemistry teacher, Raimond Duval. Subscribers of this paper are no stranger to the many stories about Duval’s work, and all of us at the Observer mourn with the community for this great loss.
An inquest will be held. Any news about what started the fire or anything of unusual nature should be sent to the interested parties known as Sparrow and Finch.
