Dear Reader,

It’s always fun to write about a place that was familiar in your childhood. Many vacations were spent “down at the lake” with family and friends when our children were little. A few days at the Lake of the Ozarks can still bring a welcome break, and we are planning a trip down now with our extended family.

Long discussions and much sharing goes on in between boat, jet ski and parasailing outings, and during hikes and meals. In the midst of all that fun and togetherness, we often talk about our faith and how God carries us through when things aren’t so sunny. We see the beauty that He created in the surrounding hills and valleys, sunsets and moon rises, and remind ourselves that He is in control. We ask a blessing at the beginning of each meal to acknowledge Him. It’s important to us to keep Him in our lives during vacation just as we do every day. And we praise God!

I hope you enjoy Sunny and Grant as much as I did. You may write me at Ruth Scofield, P.O. Box 1221, Blue Springs, MO 64013. Please enclose a SASE.
