Inspiring Success Stories
After hearing about your program, my wife and I decided to give it a try. We knew we had to make some changes for our family. My wife has Hashimoto’s disease. My daughter has polycystic ovarian syndrome, and I had not felt great about myself in a long time.
I admit we struggled with cravings for the first few days. If it hadn’t been for my wife pushing us, I would have quit. It would have been easy to say, “Let’s try something else or try it later.” But we made a commitment as a family to do what you said and give it two weeks.

After one week the cravings were gone! In fact, real food started to taste delicious. I was surprised how much the flavor was magnified in a carrot. I never noticed before. After two weeks on the program we couldn’t have been happier. We all felt fantastic and had each lost between ten and twelve pounds and no longer thought about quitting. Each week on the program gets better and better, and we feel more energetic than ever! In fact, I can’t remember the last time I have ever felt this wonderful. I lost twenty pounds after four weeks. People tell me that my skin looks great. I am more confident, more energetic, and I sleep so much better. I actually like what I see when I look in the mirror now.
Now we are all mentoring our family and friends to live this way. Both my wife and daughter had struggled with weight loss in the past in spite of exercising twice a day at times. My wife struggled as a result of her thyroid issues. She has now lost twenty-four pounds since she started eating this way, and people tell her that her skin is more vibrant. My eighteen-year-old daughter Aitana has PCOS, which makes weight loss difficult. She also struggled with acne and moodiness. She has lost twenty-two pounds and rarely has breakouts now. She feels happier and much more confident about her appearance. As soon as they started eating according to these food rules, they were able to exercise a fraction of the time and get more results. What you eat matters!

One of the amazing things we’ve noticed is how many other people ask us for help after seeing our family transformation. My mother, who lives with us after suffering several strokes, is now eating this way. Her moods and energy are much better. She is more social and no longer isolates herself to her room as much. My mother-in-law, who suffers from fibromyalgia, also reports less pain and is able to walk more easily. Even our two younger sons, who don’t seem to have much interest in learning about our new lifestyle yet, are eating better without even realizing it because we no longer have junk food in the house. We know this will have a long-term effect on their health. As a family we are healthier and happier.
Even several of my coworkers noticed the changes and have started the program. Now they are asking me a ton of questions. When you feel good, you look better. I even walk differently and I think people notice. It’s hard not to share what you learn when the changes are so obvious.
My family and I can’t thank you enough!

I was a sixteen-year-old runaway who became a single mom early in life. By the time I was twenty-one I also became the primary caretaker for a diabetic mother, a quadriplegic father, and a brother with a heroin addiction. Between working hard and taking care of others, taking care of myself was the last thing I had time for, and I paid the price with my health.
My daughter, Tana, can be a force to be reckoned with when she wants someone she loves to get healthy. But when I realized I was really hurting her by not putting my health first, I got serious. I’m very close to my family and I realized that I would not be around to see my granddaughter grow up if I didn’t make changes. I have used these principles to change my life and my body!

I was always too busy taking care of others to take care of myself. I never realized how much it was affecting the health of my brain. My focus, energy, mood, and weight are better than they have ever been. I got serious after seeing my brain scan. I knew I needed to become a Brain Warrior!

Master John Sepulveda is a ninth-degree black belt in Kenpo karate. He’s a karate legend, highly respected in the karate world and loved by his students and fellow martial artists. Daniel and I had the honor and privilege of assisting Mr. Sepulveda to achieve his weight loss goals before attending a very special event where many of his longtime karate friends would be in attendance. Mr. Sepulveda wanted to lose twenty-four pounds in three months, which is a safe and realistic goal. Using the same food principles spelled out in this book we walked him through the program.

Mr. Sepulveda reached out to us two and a half months later, informing us he had lost seventeen pounds quite easily, but was struggling with the last seven pounds. He seemed to have hit a plateau. This is not uncommon, but he really wanted to lose those last few pounds before the event. We suggested he take a serious assessment of his food to see if he was slipping, increase his water intake, and increase weight lifting (if necessary). We made some fine-tuning adjustments to his food program by decreasing the starchy carbohydrates that had crept in, a common problem that occurs over time without close attention.

We became concerned a few days before the event when we hadn’t heard a word from him. Usually this is an indication that people have gone off the program and are avoiding us. I reached out to him to nudge him a bit. However, I was delighted by the very matter-of-fact Brain Warrior response I received in return. Mr. Sepulveda had lost over seven pounds in a week. I asked if he was struggling with the program. He said, “Why would I struggle? You told me what to eat. I’m eating that and I’m not eating the other stuff.” He just did exactly what we had told him to do. That is the focus and dedication of a Brain Warrior. Mr. Sepulveda lost the additional weight he wanted to lose over the next week and has kept the weight off for over three years.
Last August we received a message from Mr. Sepulveda letting us know he had gotten his brother to join him in becoming a Brain Warrior. His brother Bill started out weighing 277 pounds at that time. By Christmas he had lost forty-seven pounds. Like Mr. Sepulveda, he just did everything his brother coached him to do. However, like many people, he relaxed his program during the holidays. He was unaware that he was diabetic—a condition that had likely gone undiagnosed for a long time; the holiday food he indulged in led to a very scary hospital visit. His doctors put him on medicine to control his blood sugar. Upon learning he was diabetic, he got serious and got back on the program. Within three months, his blood sugar was stable enough as a result of his new lifestyle changes that the doctor discontinued his medication and he is vigilantly sticking to the program.
Through the program I fell in love with my brain! I lost thirty-nine pounds and my memory, creativity, and mood have all been boosted. At work, in a meeting recently, I was able to remember the name of a client I had not seen in twelve years. Thank you!

(John learned about being a Brain Warrior while attending an addiction recovery center where we planted our program.)
When I took my intake picture I looked all bloated from drinking. Now people don’t recognize me as the same person. I think I lost weight because I stopped drinking, eating sugar, and I eat a lot healthier in the program. I don’t even think about drinking much. I feel really great about myself. My self-esteem is the highest it’s ever been. I just feel a lot better. Thank you, God!
