On the other side of the door, she saw two men in red and blue outfits and masks. They were the NIS spies. They stopped when they saw the tissue box and yelled, “Imposter!” before running towards her.
Annalynn knew she had to move fast. She ran down the hall, away from the two NIS spies. She thought she could move faster if she weren’t wearing the blown up Madam Sent le Sirop suit, so she quickly pressed the Green button. The button, however, did not work. Instead, it just made a crackling noise and did nothing.
The button was broken, and she was stuck in the Opera Singer suit! “Oh well,” Annalynn thought to herself. “I guess I just have to make it out of here looking like an Opera Singer.”
Up ahead, the hallway ended in a set of stairs leading down. She ran to the top of the stairs and was about to run down them when she saw two NIS spies coming up the stairs towards her. She looked behind her, and the two NIS spies chasing her had come to a stop. She was caught—two spies on the stairs below her and two spies behind her.
She knew she only had one option. She only had one way out. She only had one choice before her.
She had to roll.
Annalynn jumped off the top of the stairs in her ballooned up Opera Suit and flew through the air. At first, the two spies coming up the stairs looked surprised, but then they realized what was happening. A large, ballooned up fake Opera Singer in an Opera Suit disguise was rolling down the stairs and going to hit them like a bowling ball.
Annalynn bounced on the stairs and flew up in the air again, only to roll down the stairs towards the two spies. She saw the looks in their eyes turn from surprise to fear, and they ran as fast as they could down the stairs to get away from her.
Annalynn, the bouncing Opera-Suited-Spy, rolled down the stairs so fast, the NIS spies could not get away in time. She hit them with the sound of a bowling ball hitting pins and continued to roll and bounce down the rest of the stairs.
When she reached the bottom, there was another hallway. She bounced and rolled at a terrifying speed! Ahead of her, five or six spies all ran in terror. They screamed and yelled, hoping to get away from the bouncing, rolling Opera Suited spy before she crashed into them.
“Run for your lives!” one of the spies called out, just before he was squished under a bouncing Madam Sent le Sirop.
Annalynn saw a door ahead of her. She hoped it was the Exit. She couldn’t stop herself from bouncing and rolling, but she thought maybe when she was out of the Opera House, she might be able to get some control and land on her feet.
Just before the door, however, she saw something. She saw something that terrified her. It was the worst danger she could imagine. Ahead of her, lying on the ground before the door, was a horrible, dangerous item. She knew it could be the end of her. If she landed on it, all might be over.
It was... a thumbtack.
“Noooooonnnnnn!!!!” she screamed in French, but she could not stop. She landed on her belly, right on the thumbtack.
Annalynn heard a pop, followed by a hiss from the escaping air. She screamed in fear as the escaping air acted like a rocket and fired her backwards down the hallway and through the door. She flew through the air like a deflating balloon. She couldn’t do anything but fly back and forth as the spy-suit-balloon made a sound like, “sssppppllllppppbbbpppppp....”
As she flew through the air, she screamed out again at the top of her lungs, “AAAaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!!”
By this time, four NIS spies had run out of the building. They watched her fly back and forth like a deflating balloon. Other people gathered around as well, and they listened to her scream.
Some of the people yelled out, “Look! It’s Madam Sent le Sirop! She not only sings like a bird, but she also flies like a rocket!” Everyone clapped, and she could see a few people wipe tears from their eyes.
When the air had just about run out of her suit-balloon, she was still flying backwards, but she started to fly in a straight line. She looked over her shoulder and could see that she was flying right towards her jet. It was perfect! She hoped she could fly to the jet, and then she might be able to get inside and fly away with the tissue box before the NIS spies caught her.
The air began to run out of her balloon suit belly, and she found herself closer and closer to the ground. She was not moving as fast, but she was still flying backwards. When she ran out of the air in her suit, she landed on the ground and ran backwards to keep from falling.
Right behind her... or in front of her... staring her in the face as she ran backwards, were the four NIS spies. They each had a big smile on their face, and she could hear them calling out, “We almost have her! Soon we will have the tissues in our grasp!”
Annalynn turned around as fast as she could, so she could stop running backwards. She then ran towards the jet. She hoped she could get to her jet in time, but she was pretty sure she would not be able to climb up the ladder into the cockpit before the spies grabbed her.
She knew it was time for the Purple button. She had to jump. She pressed the Purple button and screamed out in fear. Giant springs shot out of her shoes, and she shot into the air. She looked down to see the jet far below her and then watched as she passed right over it. She then started to fall down on the other side of the jet.
When she hit the ground again, she tried her best to bounce back towards the jet. She smiled as she saw herself moving in the right direction, but groaned as she once again passed over the jet and flew off to the side where the NIS spies were.
Down below her, she could see all four spies. They stood together and smiled as she fell down through the air towards them. Each one raised their hands to grab her when she came close. She was sure it was over. She was about to be caught. She didn’t want to go to jail as a Spy but hoped maybe one of the other CSIS spies might come to her rescue. Or maybe they would send Steve the Moose. She didn’t care who they sent, as long as they sent someone, and that person rescued her.
When she landed, she was surprised to see that not one of the four spies could catch her. Instead, she landed right on the head of one of the men and then bounced up again. She flew into the air, and when she looked down, she was falling directly towards her jet.
She landed in the seat in the cockpit with a loud “THLUMP” and quickly pressed the “on” button, followed by the “Close thingy above your head while you are sitting in the cockpit” button. She then pressed the button labelled, “If you don’t know what to do now, press this button,” and followed the instructions on the screen. When it asked for her coordinates, she typed in, “Home.”
The jet took off, flying backwards. Annalynn screamed again in fear and hoped that one day she would not scream so much. She had a sneaky feeling she would need to get used to terrifying experiences.
On the computer screen, Annalynn read, “Estimated time of arrival: 3 hours.”
She sat back, holding the tissue box and decided it was time for a three-hour nap. She had completed her first real mission as a spy. Madam Sent le Sirop had won.
