Jake Tapper is anchor of the CNN daily news show The Lead with Jake Tapper, as well as being the network’s chief Washington correspondent. In addition to other journalism awards he has received, Tapper is the only reporter to ever be honored three years in a row by the White House Correspondents’ Association with the Merriman Smith Memorial Award for excellence in presidential news coverage under deadline pressure. He is the author of Down and Dirty: The Plot to Steal the Presidency. He lives in Washington, D.C., with his wife, daughter, son, dog, and two cats.
