Listening Challenge 2: Is it a Duple or a Triple meter?
If you’ve enjoyed the previous challenge, here’s another one that is slightly more demanding. Listen to the clips (Companion Course: Day 4, Listening Challenge 2) and write whether the piece is in a duple or a triple meter.
This is slightly more challenging than the previous one because not all duple meters are marches and not all triple meters are waltzes.
Once again it’s not that important whether you get them right or wrong. The purpose is to get you to listen to the difference between duple and triple meters.
For every composer’s name, indicate whether the clip is in duple meter or in triple meter:
  1. Bach
  2. Beethoven
  3. Bach
  4. Dvorak
  5. Grieg
  6. Handel
  7. Haydn
  8. Haydn
  9. Paganini
  10. Waldteufel
