Sleep is a vital part of your inner growth, especially in the early stages. There is a lot going on at the sleep level of consciousness that we are only just beginning to understand. Many spiritual retreat programs include naps, rest time, and/or sleep as a major part of the daily regimen.
If you’ve been moving quickly on the fast track in recent years, you may desperately need sleep to restore your body and your mind, not to mention your psyche. If you’ve simplified your life, you’ll have time now to sleep and still do many of the other things you may want to do.
So sleep in whenever you can. Go to bed early every night for as long as you need to. Sleep throughout the weekends. Take naps whenever possible. Relish sleep. Luxuriate in it. Grow in it. Expand in it. You need it.
