It will be important for your inner pursuits to have a space you can call your own. It could be your own room, or even a small corner of a room. It will be somewhere you can go and not be disturbed.
This will be where you’ll meditate, contemplate, do nothing, think, read, heal yourself, enjoy the silence, and do your journal writing. You can do your affirmations and visualizations here. You can keep your discipline calendar and your box of stars here (#61). You can review your day here (#41). It’ll be a very functional space. Do whatever you need to do to make it special and sacred.
I have a huge cozy armchair in a corner by a window. I can sit comfortably for reading, and straight and alert for meditating. I keep a stack of my favorite books by the chair.
I have a tape player nearby where I can listen to my subliminal tapes or to music that I find uplifting—though usually I just enjoy the silence. I know I can go there at any time to clear my energy, or to work out a problem, or to just sit quietly and be. Gibbs knows not to interrupt me when I’m there.
If you’ve never had the luxury of a place where you can go on a regular basis to get away from the daily routine of your life and be alone, don’t waste another moment. This space will be essential for your spiritual growth.
