Can you tell me the one thing that your fingernails do?
Fingernails grow! No matter how short yours may be, give them some time and they will grow. Even if you keep biting them off they will just keep coming back!
But have you actually seen a fingernail grow? Think about it, when is the last time you sat down, laid your hand on the table and tried to watch your fingernails grow, even a centimeter?
I am thinking you said, “Never!” That is because it is pretty impossible. Staring at your fingernails and waiting to see them grow would probably drive you bananas! You may be sitting there for a very, very, very long time.
But do you have faith that they will grow? I bet you do. That is why you just keep wanting new, fun, and colorful fingernail polish to paint them with! To have faith means that you believe something is true or that something will happen, even if you do not see it. In Hebrews 11:1, God explains faith like this: “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
Did you know that having a relationship with God means you have faith in Him? Even though you have never seen God, you have to believe that He is real and He is working in your life! Just like you want to keep buying more and more fingernail polish, keep loving God and wanting more of Him in your life!
Are you waiting for something to happen? What are things you cannot see but you need to believe God for? God wants you to have faith in Him. He promises to take care of you!
Dear God, thank You for wanting to take care of me. As I keep getting to know You, help me to believe that You are real and to have faith in You! In Jesus’s name, amen.
