Bob Eggleton is a winner of nine Hugo Awards, twelve Chesley Awards, the 2019 L. Ron Hubbard Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Arts, and a 2015 Rondo Award in Classic Horror, as well as an award from the Godzilla Society of North America. His art can be seen on the covers of numerous magazines, professional publications, and books in science fiction, fantasy, and horror across the world including several volumes of his own work. He has also worked as a conceptual illustrator for movies and thrill rides.
Of late, Eggleton has focused on private commissions and self-commissioned work. He is an elected Fellow of the International Association of Astronomical Artists and is a Fellow of the New England Science Fiction Association. He has a minor planet named for him by Spacewatch—13562bobeggleton—and was an extra in the 2002 film Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla.
Bob is working on a large Clarke Ashton Smith book. He completed paintings for an illustrated version of King Kong, celebrating the ninetieth anniversary, available from Easton Press. And he recently finished essays edited along with Laura Freas Beraha for a huge book, The Art of Frank Kelly Freas, published by Centipede Press.
Bob has been an Illustrators of the Future Contest judge since its inception in 1988. He has participated as an instructor for the annual workshops and as an art director for previous anthologies.
