SOAVE GRAPE: Garganega
(“gar-GAN-neh-gah”) is the grape
of Soave. The best vineyards are
located on slopes in the hills
above the walled city of Soave.

SOAVE & SOAVE SUPERIORE

A larger production zone. Soave
Superiore has longer aging reqs.

SOAVE CLASSICO

The original classic growing zone
located in the hills.

SOAVE COLLI SCALIGERI

Wines from hillside vineyards
outside the classic zone.

COMMON STYLES

LIGHT & ZESTY

Young Soave wines taste of
honeydew melon, saline,
marmalade, and white
peach, often with a subtle
note of green almond.

RICH, HONEYED & FLORAL

Older vintage Soave wines
taste of candied fennel,
saffron, honey, baked apple,
and preserved lemon. Look
for Soave aged for 4 or more
years.

Soave pairs very well with
shellfish, chicken, tofu, and hard-
to-pair foods including split peas,
lentils, and asparagus.

Garganega is the same grape as
Grecanico in Sicily. Grecanico
wines tend to be bolder and more
fruity, and Soave wines tend to be
more lean and crisp.
