APPLE SAUCE

Makes: 500g • Time: 1–3 hours

YOU NEED

1kg sweet apples, cored and chopped with skin on

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (optional)

Preheat the oven to 170°C/325°F/Gas 3. Place the apples in an ovenproof pan and roast, covered, for about 1 hour, or until completely soft. Stir halfway through. Alternatively, cook in a slow cooker on high for 3 hours. Transfer to a blender or food processor, add the cinnamon (if using) and blitz until smooth. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
