His family moved to Ohio where his stepdad grew up.” He has published a number of SF stories, attended Clarion, was a Writers of the Future winner. His first novel, The Crystal Ship, was published in 2006. He has recently published several novels, including a best-selling Halo tie-in.
“Mitigation” was published in Fast Forward 2, edited by Lou Anders, a first-rate anthology series that we hope continues. This tale is a post-global-warming, cyberpunk-influenced story about an extinct species DNA heist. The setting gives vivid glimpses of a future in which our planet has become ugly and inhospitable, and we move through it fast, with criminal speed.
