Savoury Toast

SERVES 4

4 slices toast bread

60 g (¼ cup) butter, softened

2 teaspoons prepared mustard, or to taste

125 g (1¼ cups) grated cheddar cheese

juice of 1 lemon

2½ tablespoons fresh breadcrumbs

Preheat oven to 190°C.

Place bread on a baking tray. Place the butter and mustard in a bowl and beat to combine well.

Spread bread with the mixture. Top with the cheese, drizzle with lemon juice and scatter over the breadcrumbs.

Bake for 10 minutes, or until crisp and bubbling. Cut into fingers and serve hot.
