Orchard in Blossom with a View of Arles was painted in April 1889, just before Vincent left for the asylum in Saint-Rémy. Vincent worked in the far corner of the fields on the south side of Boulevard des Lices – a short walk from Arles hospital and opposite one of the public parks.
