Dorian: hey

Tristan: Hey.

Dorian: how was class today?

Tristan: Garbage.

Dorian: what happened?

Tristan: Nah, you don’t want to hear me complain . . .

Dorian: I wouldn’t ask if I didn’t want to hear it

Tristan: You sure?

Dorian: yup

Tristan: Okay . . .

So we have this assignment, right? And I got paired with the one guy in class who doesn’t care about getting good grades! He’s so frustrating. I have no idea how to work with him. It’s just . . . jshdhsjsks

Dorian: wow

you really are mad

Tristan: SO angry! Why does this always happen?! I don’t need some guy who doesn’t give a damn about his marks to ruin things for me!

aldjdhdhfjfka

!!!!!!!

Dorian: you want advice or do you just need me to listen?

Tristan: I dunno . . . whatever you want.

Dorian: advice it is

give him a chance

I know it sounds like crappy advice

but he might end up surprising you

tris?

Tristan: Yeah, I’m still here . . .

Dorian: you gonna respond?

Tristan: I don’t know . . .

I just don’t know how to respond . . .

I mean, I guess you’re right.

But he’s always dicking around. He doesn’t take anything seriously!

Dorian: have you ever stopped to think maybe you take things too seriously?

Tristan: Shut up.

Dorian: I honestly think you should loosen up and be less . . .

uptight

it might do your blood pressure some good

Tristan: So how were your classes?

Dorian: not bad

we’re also doing a group assignment

my partner seems fine

doesn’t talk much

I’m thinking I might end up having to do the project on my own

but whatever

I know what I’m doing

and I don’t really care if he gets a good grade because of me

I’m not really at school for marks

I’m here to learn

Tristan: I wish I could be that carefree . . .

Dorian: yeah you should try it some time

Tristan: Oh, yeah, you’re one to talk. How’s your Bambi problem?

Dorian: totally different issue

anyways

we were pointing out your flaws not mine

Tristan: Ha.

Dorian: and to answer your question

not great

aj invited her to boardgame night

that was our thing

just the three of us

spud aj and I

and now he’s invited this chick I don’t even know

Tristan: I’m sorry . . .

Dorian: ten cents

Tristan: IT WAS AN EMPATHETIC APOLOGY!!

Dorian: and it just cost you ten cents

Tristan: Okay, well, I was gonna give you advice, but now you don’t deserve it.

Seriously, though . . .

I get your desire to keep things the same . . .

But sometimes change is good, you know?

Take my friend for example . . . Let’s call her Rose.

She spent so long with this guy she was comfortable with, because he loved her. But she never really felt the same way.

She finally dumped him. And now she’s seeing a new guy that makes her so happy. I haven’t seen Rose smile that much in a long time.

I just . . .

I think change can be a good thing.

Dorian?

Dorian: yeah yeah

I’m still here

just mulling stuff over

Tristan: Mull out loud?

Dorian: ok

I’m happy for your friend

but it’s not the same as my situation

she left some turd for a better dude

are you saying I’m the turd in this scenario?

Tristan: No! That’s not at all what I’m saying!

You’re the Rose here!

Things aren’t where you want them to be in one relationship. So maybe some change is good?

Dorian: it’s not the same tris

I appreciate you trying but these are two completely different things

aj and I are tight

but now bambi’s here and she’s all he can talk about

I’m not leaving aj because I want to

aj is leaving me . . .

for her

Tristan: Okay, listen up, Dorian. AJ is not LEAVING you! You’re making it sound like you two are dating! You’re not, are you?

Dorian: no of course not

he’s my best friend

Tristan: Exactly! AJ and you will always be best friends, with or without Bambi.

Have you talked to AJ about any of this?

Dorian: no

Tristan: You should.

Dorian: it won’t end well

Tristan: Please?

For me?

I would feel better knowing that you spoke to your friend and sorted this out.

Dorian: fine I’ll talk to him

you’re an annoying little shit you know that?

Tristan: Yeah, but you love it.

Dorian: hey wanna watch another episode of that other show?

Tristan: Uh, sure, yeah.

It’s getting late, though . . .

But I guess I can stay up! It’s way more fun hanging with you than going to bed.

Dorian: lol

crap . . .

aj just got home

he’s calling me I g2g

Tristan: That’s fine! We can always watch another night!

I’ll speak to you tomorrow!

Goodnight, Dorian!
