1.    What? summer now? divisions ring

and subdivisions spring,

Errours and heresyes abound

And is it time to sing?

5          2 .    O yes. True members all are one

as Christ did preach and pray

The day the heaven and earth is burnt

is good mens wedding day.

3.     As for opinions, weeds, and tares

10                  Is trueth a feeble reed?

If the elect may bee deceav-d

I will even burne my creed.

4.    Drowne not poore faith in faithlesse feares

walke Peter on the wave

15                 Christ bears the earth, holds up the church

when men and devills do rave.

5.    feare not the Pates of Jesuits

our Jesus them outwitts

now they are neere their journeyes end

20                lett satan tyre his titts.

6.    Sing on a brittle sea of glasse

sing in a furne of fire

In flames wee leap for joy and find

a cave a singing quire.

25        7.    Sight sense and reason, hold your peace

our Guides no longer bee,

word faith and spirit stand in stead things

(now) unseene wee see

8.    Its true we differ in small points

30               as clocks in cittyes do

some travellers do lag behind

who yet to Salem go

9.    Know that Christs army hath two wings

and diffring colours all

35               his house hath divers sorted roomes

his trees are short and tall

10.  Mens faces, voices, differ much,

saincts are not all one size

flowers in one garden vary too

40               lett none monopolize.

11.   In our Gamaliels shcoole there are

and will bee many forms

and divers branches on one root

that clash in time of storms

45     12.    In pronunciation of our tongue

some stammer lispe or tone

though sibboleth may cost us deare

in Christ wee are all one.
