CHAPTER 5

(I Don’t Trust You)

Angela stepped out the limousine dressed in a nice expensive silver gown. The life-like mask she wore worked perfectly not even the mayor could tell the difference between his daughter and the fake.

Are you okay tonight honey?” the mayor asked looking down at Kimberly.

Yes I’m fine. I’m going to go to the ladies room I’ll be right back,” Kimberly said. Once she was away from her father, she spoke into her earpiece. “Hey Troy talk to me.”

Troy sat in the back of his van that was parked three blocks away from the hotel. “I’m tapped into all the security cameras now and I’ve just spotted Matt Hardy.”

I’ll go after him.”

No Angela we need you to stay close to the mayor We’re not sure why, Matt Hardy is here but I’m sure it has something to do with the mayor,” Troy said. “Ashley you’ll have to go after Matt Hardy.”

Copy,” Ashley replied as she grabbed a glass of champagne off one of the moving trays and downed the bubbly liquid in one gulp. “Where is he?”

Turn to your right and you can’t miss him.” Troy’s voice echoed through, Ashley’s earpiece.

Matt Hardy stood in the middle of the floor pretending to sip from his glass of champagne. He held the glass up to his lips while his eyes scanned the entire room. On first glance, he spotted an attractive woman out the corner of his eye that seemed to be discreetly watching him. Matt Hardy didn’t know who she was but from her muscular shoulders and toned legs, he knew that she wasn’t just some ordinary woman in an expensive gown who ever this lady was she was here for a reason. Matt had been trained to spot things that stuck out on people. He was also trained to kill. “Room 540 there’s a briefcase inside I need you to go get it and be carefully there will be armed men guarding the room. Roxy’s voice snapped through, Matt’s earpiece. “My job was to kill the mayor’s daughter. Why the change of plan?” Matt asked as he sat his drink down and headed over towards the elevators.

Stop asking so many questions. You have ten minutes to get that briefcase before another crew of armed guards come to get the case so you better move fast,” Roxy told him.

Shit!” Matt Hardy cursed under his breath he didn’t know what, the Lion was up to but whatever it was it was bound to be trouble. Matt stepped on the elevator and pressed five. Just as the doors were closing he noticed the woman with the toned legs heading towards the elevators as well. Matt Hardy stood on the elevator, quickly removed his Berta from his holster, and screwed a silencer onto the barrel, the entire time he made sure he kept his head down so the security camera couldn’t catch his identity. The elevator doors open and, Matt stepped off with a two handed grip on his weapon he turned the corner and spotted three men with suits and earpieces guarding room 540.

Sir no one is allowed down here. I’m going to have to ask you...”the first man said, right before his head exploded.

Psst!

Matt quickly fired a shot that hit the next guard in the neck; he didn’t even wait for the guard’s body to hit the floor before he moved on to the last guard. The last guard’s eyes lit up in fear he went to reach for his weapon but frozen when he felt the barrel of the hot silencer pressed into the middle of his forehead.

What’s in the briefcase?” Matt growled into the remaining guard’s ear.

I don’t know man I don’t ask questions I just do what I’m told,” the guard replied with a scared look on his face. A few seconds ago, he was cool now he was a sweaty mess. Matt reached down into the guard’s pocket and took his room key. In a swift motion, he swung his gun with his entire might and knocked the last guard out cold. Matt Hardy quickly entered room 540, and then looked down at his watch. He would have to move quick being as though he only had five minutes left to retrieve the briefcase and get out of the room undetected. Matt eased his way inside the room with a tight two-handed grip on his weapon; he inched his way further inside the room when out of nowhere he was roughly grabbed in a bear hug from behind then violently slammed through a glass coffee table that rested in the middle of the room. During the fall, Matt lost possession of his gun. He looked up and saw a big strong man standing over him with a no nonsense look on his face. The big man roughly snatched, Matt to his feet and threw him violently against the wall. Matt bounced off the wall and landed a three-punch combination to the big man’s chin. He then quickly followed up with a sharp kick to the side of the big man’s leg. The kick didn’t faze the big man as he ducked low and came up with an uppercut that was intended to take, Matt’s head. Matt quickly weaved the punch and delivered a sharp elbow that bounced off the side of the big man’s head. Before the big man could figure out what was going on his legs were swept from up under him and he went down hard. Matt raised his leg and stomped the big man’s head into the floor breaking his nose in the process. The big man quickly hopped back up to his feet with blood running down his face, he tasted some of his blood and smiled. “Yeah motherfucker this the type of shit I like!” the big man said as he removed a hunting knife from the small of his back and held it in a firm grip. Matt Hardy took his fighting stance as the big man inched closer and closer.

Ashley stepped on the elevator with a fake smile on her face. “What floor?”

He went to the fifth floor,” Troy answered. “Please be careful. From the looks of it there’s a lot going on up there.”

Copy,” Ashely replied. When the elevator doors opened, immediately, Ashley could hear a loud commotion coming from down the hall and around the corner. Ashely quickly removed her .380 from her purse and screwed the silencer on the barrel as she reached room 540. Outside of the room, she spotted two bodies sprawled out across the carpeted floor she quickly stepped over the bodies and entered the room.
