CHAPTER 18

(You Have To Stop Them)

Angela sat in the back of the stolen van with a serious look on her face. After watching the news and seeing, the Lion’s video, she knew she couldn’t allow him to blow up the subway station. Angela was dressed in all black and prepared to do whatever she had to in order to put a stop to, the Lion’s evil plan. She was only sixty five to seventy percent healthy but for now that would have to do.

You sure you’re going to be able to handle this?” Troy asked with a concerned look on her face. He knew the kind of condition, Angela was in and was a little worried about her.

Angela flashed Troy a smile. “I’ll be fine. You just make sure you keep me updated on, Ashley.”

Between the two of you I’m going to have gray hair before my time,” Troy huffed as he pulled the van over on a deserted block. Angela hopped out the back of the van and walked over to the sewer, stuck a long pipe that resembled a crowbar down onto the sewer lid, and quickly removed it not trying to draw any attention.

Troy walked over and hugged Angela tightly. “I won’t be able to communicate with you through the air piece as usual because if we use the air pieces then headquarters will be able to track your location and every move, but here,” Troy handed her a black mask that would cover her entire face. “Put this mask on and to hide your identity just in case of any cameras and on top of this mask is a camera so I’ll be able to see your every move. I’ll communicate with you on my computer and you’ll be able to read my messages from off of your watch,” he handed her a watch. “The watch won’t make a sound but it will slightly buzz on your wrist to notify you that you have received a message.”

Angela placed the watch on her wrist and slid the mask down over her face. She winked at, Troy, and then slowly climbed down the manhole. Troy placed the lid back over the manhole and prayed that, Angela would be okay.

Ashley walked up the last flight of stairs in the abandoned warehouse and pushed the door open to the roof. As soon as the door opened, two men immediately shoved guns in her face. Ashley slowly threw her hands up in surrender. “What the hell is going on here?”

Lower your weapons please,” Captain Spiller ordered with a serious look on his face. From first glance, Ashley could tell that he hadn’t had any sleep in a couple of days. “Ashley get over here!” he barked. “I don’t know what the hell is going on or how you and Angela are going to fix this!”

I have to stop that train,” Ashley said. She too was dressed in all black and ready to stop, the Lion and ruin his plan by any means necessary.

Where’s Angela?” Captain Spiller asked.

She’s down at the subway,” Ashley answered.

I don’t even want to hear any more. Y’all just do what y’all have to do,” Captain Spiller shook his head, he knew if one thing went wrong that he would lose his job as well as his freedom. He watched, Ashley board the chopper. From that point on, all he could do was pray that nothing went wrong.

Angela dropped down into the sewer water with a loud splash. The smell of urine, mixed with shit, and throw up immediately attacked, Angela’s nostrils and almost caused her to gag. Angela pulled her Five-Seven pistol from her holster and held it with a tight grip as she pulled the night vision goggles down over her eyes so she could see in the dark. Angela made her way through the dark tunnel as rats took turns running across her feet. Angela reached a dead end and climbed up a metal ladder that led to the second level. She reached the second level and could immediately hear chatter followed by loud laughter. Angela held her pistol with a two handed grip as she felt a light vibration on her wrist from her watch. She raised her wrist and saw a message from Troy. “Three heavily armed tangos up ahead. Be careful.”

Angela pulled a silencer from one of her pockets and screwed it onto the barrel of her gun, then slowly eased her way around the corner. Angela crept up on one of the gunmen from behind with ease she used the darkness to her advantage.

One of the gunmen stood digging in his nose when out of nowhere, a gloved hand clamped down over his mouth and a gun was placed to the side of his head. A light splash of water grabbed the two other gunmen attention. They looked up and the last thing they saw was the muzzle flash. The gunmen dropped quickly making a loud splash. Angela held the gunman in a chokehold and whispered in his ear. “Where is, the Lion?”

He’s up on the platform,” the gunman answered. “Please don’t kill me.”

What were y’all doing down here?” Angela asked as she noticed something plastered to the wall with a green light blinking on it. “What is that over there?”

A bomb!” the gunman growled.

How many of those are down here?”

Twenty!”

Shit!” Angela cursed. “How do I defuse these bombs?”

Fuck you!” the gunman growled as he delivered an elbow to Angela’s ribs then tried to make a run for it, but two bullets exploded in his back before he could even make it ten feet away. Angela took a deep breath. The blow to the ribs had really hurt her especially since she wasn’t a hundred percent to begin with. Angela felt a buzz on her wrist then looked down at her watch and saw another message from, Troy. “You’re making too much noise two tangos are on ’their way around the corner headed your way!”

Angela got down on one knee, steadied her gun, and waited. Seconds later, two gunmen came running around the corner and were immediately put down with headshots. She then typed Troy a quick message. “I have to defuse these bombs and I need you to walk me through it.”

Angela walked over to the bomb and studied it carefully. She had no clue what she was looking at. Seconds later, she got another buzz on her wrist from, Troy giving her instructions on how to disable the bomb. Angela flicked the blade open on her knife and carefully did as, Troy had instructed. The light on the bomb went from green to red notifying Angela that she had successfully disabled the bomb. “One down and nineteen to go,” she whispered to herself.
