¼ cup tomato paste
2 tablespoons + 2 teaspoons light brown sugar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon water
1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
2 teaspoons molasses
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon onion powder
IN a small bowl, combine the tomato paste, sugar, soy sauce, water, liquid smoke, vinegar, molasses, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. With a whisk or a spoon, stir until well blended. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer to a jar. Refrigerate for up to 1 month.
