ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Justin would first like to thank his mom and dad for literally everything. He’d also like to thank his brothers, Travis and Griffin, for believing and encouraging him every step of the way, Chris Grant for changing his life over a decade ago, and Jesse Thorn for helping to birth Sawbones into existence. Also, thanks to my third grade teacher, Mrs. Williams, for telling me I was capable of writing great things. I hope one day to prove her right.

Sydnee would like to thank her mom for starting to teach her to read when she was six months old, her dad for passing along his unmatched tenacity, and her sisters, Teylor and Rileigh, for inspiring her and making her laugh every Monday. I wouldn’t have believed I could do this, or practically anything, without the love and support of my Mama and Papa. Thank you for sharing all your words, Papa.

Thank you to our agent Jud Laghi for fighting for this book for the years (yes, years!) it took to find the right home. Speaking of which, the book you hold in your hand would not exist without the talented team at Weldon Owen, especially our fantastic, genius, un-gross-out-able editor, Mariah Bear.

And of course, no acknowledgments page worth its salt would be complete without thanks to vaccines, without which a lot of us would be dead or seriously ill. Thanks, vaccines, for being so safe and effective.
