Original Sausage Sandwich
BOB EVANS SELLS THEIR BRANDED SAUCES AT THEIR RESTAURANTS AND ONLINE. IF YOU CAN’T FIND THE TASTE OF THE FARM OLD ROUTE 35 SAUCE NEAR YOU, USE YOUR FAVORITE HAMBURGER SAUCE WITH THE ADDITION OF WORCESTERSHIRE.
1 pound Bob Evans bulk sausage
4 hamburger buns, split in half
4 slices American cheese
1 medium red onion, sliced in 1/4-inch slices
1/2 cup Old Route 35 Sauce, or other burger sauce
1. Light a charcoal barbecue or heat a gas grill to medium. Clean the grate and coat it with vegetable oil.
2. Slice the package of sausage equally into 4 pieces and remove the plastic packaging. Gently press each section into a patty.
3. Grill the sausage patties 4 to 5 minutes per side, or until cooked through and no longer pink in the center.
4. Place a cooked patty on a hamburger bun and top with a slice of cheese and 2 onion rings. Drizzle with sauce.

For an easy, creamy dressing with a touch of tang, which will work with any burger, whisk together:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup yellow mustard
11/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon steak sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
