THE COMMERCIAL PROMOTING CARL’S SIX DOLLAR BURGER STARRED PARIS HILTON MUNCHING ON THE SANDWICH AND WASHING A CAR AT THE SAME TIME. IT WAS A TOP SELLER IN THE MALE 18- TO 24-YEAR-OLD AGE BRACKET. EVEN IF YOU’RE NOT A SEXY BLONDE, YOUR GUYS WILL DEFINITELY APPRECIATE THIS EFFORT.

8 ounces Black Angus ground beef

1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

2 slices American cheese

1 sesame seed hamburger bun, split in half

2 tablespoons mayonnaise

4 slices dill or bread and butter pickles

1/2 slice iceberg lettuce

2 thick slices tomato

3 1/4-inch-thick slices red onion

1 teaspoon yellow mustard

1 tablespoon ketchup or chili sauce

1. Make a patty from the ground beef that is slightly larger than the hamburger bun. Refrigerate the patty at least 15 minutes before cooking.

2. Light a charcoal barbecue or heat a gas grill to medium. Clean the grate and coat it with vegetable oil.

3. Season both sides of the patty with the salt and pepper. Grill the meat 3 to 4 minutes per side, turning once, or until cooked to your preferred doneness.

4. Put the cheese on the patty and place it on the cooler side of the grill to let the cheese melt slightly.

5. Grill both halves of the hamburger bun until lightly toasted, taking care to not let them burn. Spread a tablespoon of mayonnaise on each half.

6. Arrange the pickles on the bottom bun and top with the lettuce and sliced tomatoes. Layer the red onions over the tomatoes, then finish with the patty and cheese.

7. Spread the top bun with the mustard and ketchup and place it on the burger. Serve hot.

Carl’s Jr. has three other Six Dollar Burgers on their menu that would be fun to try at home. The Guacamole and Bacon uses pepper Jack cheese. The Western has fried onion rings and barbecue sauce. The Low Carb is wrapped in iceberg lettuce instead of a bun.
