blessed

Father Joe wakes from a dream he can’t remember.

And he is filled with light.

The voice comes in his head again, just like it did the morning before, and the morning before that. He knows it is the Father. He knows he is blessed. Soon, there will be blessings for all who did not believe on the day before. And when that day comes—oh, praise God, when that day comes—there will be a sign from above and a glory beyond man and flesh as could never be imagined by all the ancient saints and sinners who went before him. All he must do is heed the voice. All he must do is wait.

The light fills him.

I am the only god you will ever need.
