TENSION

Exact tension isn’t essential for this project but make sure that you crochet tightly so that the stuffing does not show.

PATTERN NOTES

Beads are worked in the round, do not turn throughout. Rounds worked in spirals, do not join into rounds. Place a marker in first stitch of round to mark beginning of rounds and count rounds, moving marker up every round. Begin stuffing ball from last even round to ensure an evenly filled ball.

Work three rnds straight in dc without increasing, then begin to stuff bead.

Begin to decrease as follows:

CHAIN

Using 2.25mm hook and yarn E, work a chain as long as you wish the necklace to be.

Fasten off yarn.

FINISHING

Thread chain into large darning needle. Thread beads at random onto chain and fasten ends of chain together to secure.

For bracelet version, make a length of chain that fits around your wrist, plus 4cm (1½in), sl st into a ch approx 4cm (1½in) away from hook to create a loop and fasten off yarn. Thread some small beads onto the chain and sew last bead to non-looped end of chain. Fasten bracelet by wrapping round wrist, then inserting final bead through end loop of chain.
