Crochet these cosy legwarmers in one shade or in candy stripes. They look great with ballet flats or with ankle boots.
MEASUREMENTS
One size, approx 26cm (10¼in) long and 14cm (5½in) wide, but you can make them longer or shorter by working more rounds as desired.
YARN
1 x 50g ball – approx 100m (109yds) – Rico Essentials Soft Merino Aran, 100% merino wool, in each of:
Yarn A: shade 041, eucalyptus
Yarn B: shade 015, fuchsia
Yarn C: shade 050, pistachio
ALTERNATIVE YARNS
Any Aran weight yarn will work well for this project.
TENSION
Approx 11 sts and 10 rows to 10cm (4in) in pattern using 5mm hook or size required to obtain correct tension.
EXTRAS
*4.5mm and 5mm crochet hooks

LEGWARMER
(make 2)
Using 4.5mm hook and yarn A, ch 34, join into a ring with a sl st into first ch.
Rnd 1: Ch 2, miss next ch, (dc into next ch, ch 1, miss next ch) to end, join rnd with a sl st.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, dc into 1-ch sp, (ch 1, dc into 1-ch sp) to end, join rnd with a sl st.
Rnd 3: Ch 2, (dc into next 1-ch sp, 1 ch) to end, join rnd with a sl st.
Change to yarn B and larger hook.
Rnd 4: Ch 3, work 1tr into each dc and 1-ch sp around, join rnd with a sl st. 34sts
Change to yarn C and work two rnds straight in tr.
**Change to yarn A and work one rnd straight in dc.
Change to yarn B and work one rnd straight in tr.
Change to yarn C and work two rnds straight in tr.**
Rep from ** to ** three times more, or until desired length of legwarmer has been reached.
Change to yarn A and smaller hook.
Next rnd: Ch 2, miss next tr (dc into next tr, ch 1, miss next tr) to end, join rnd with a sl st.
Next rnd: Ch 1, dc into 1-ch sp, (ch 1, dc into 1-ch sp) to end, join rnd with a sl st.
Next rnd: Ch 2, (dc into next 1-ch sp, ch 1) to end, join rnd with a sl st.
Fasten off yarn.
FINISHING
Weave in ends.
