Cakes

These little cakes look so sweet you’ll find it hard to believe you can’t eat them.

MEASUREMENTS

Cupcake approx 10cm (4in) diameter.

Doughnut approx 12cm (4¾in) diameter.

Sponge cake approx 6cm (2½in) diameter and 9cm (3½in) tall.

YARN

1 x 50g ball – approx 125m (137yds) – Millamia Merino, 100% merino, in each of:

Yarn A: shade 160, fawn

Yarn B: shade 122, petal

Yarn C: shade 104, claret

Yarn D: shade 124, snow

ALTERNATIVE YARNS

Any DK weight yarn will do here but as tension is not essential, you could try any yarn and the cakes will just come out different sizes. You could also try some metallic yarns for sparkle, or stripe up the colours for different patterns.

TENSION

Exact tension isn’t essential for this project but make sure that you crochet tightly so that the stuffing does not show.

EXTRAS

*3.25mm crochet hook

*Darning needle

*Sewing needle and thread

*Beads and buttons for decoration

*Toy stuffing
