Princess Tiara

A simple-to-make tiara fit for any little princess. I’ve sewn on pearls, but you can use beads or sew-on jewels if you prefer.

MEASUREMENTS

Purchase headband to fit wearer’s head; crocheted section is approx 2cm (¾in) high.

YARN

1 x 20g ball – approx 150m (164yds) – DMC Metallic Crochet Thread, 60% viscose, 40% metallized polyester, in shade L168, silver

ALTERNATIVE YARNS

Any similar weight metallic crochet thread will work well for this project.

TENSION

Exact tension isn’t essential for this project.

EXTRAS

*2.75mm crochet hook

*Darning needle

*Headband

*Beads for embellishment

*Beading needle and thread

TIARA

Using 2.75mm hook, attach yarn to headband and work 42dc around the centre section of the headband, turn.

Next row: Dc, (ch 5, miss 3sts, dc into next st) five times, ch 6, miss 4sts, dc into next st, ch 7, miss 5sts, dc into next st, ch 6, miss 4sts, dc into next st, (ch 5, miss 3sts, dc into next st) five times, turn.

Next row: (Work 7dc into next 5-ch sp, sl st into dc) five times, 9dc into next ch sp, sl st into dc, 11dc into next ch sp, sl st into dc, 9dc into next ch sp, sl st into dc (work 7dc into next 5-ch sp, sl st into dc) five times.

Fasten off yarn.

FINISHING

Sew on beads as desired.
