Grandma’s Apple Crisp
Serves 8–10
Ingredients
Nonstick cooking spray
1⁄2 cup flour
3⁄4 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons trans-fat-free margarine
1 cup rolled oats
6 to 8 Golden Delicious apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1⁄4 cup sugar
1⁄4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Use a shallow round pie pan, and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
Prepare streusel by placing flour, sugar, and margarine in food processor, pulsing until a coarse texture. Add oatmeal, and continue pulsing to break it up.
Place half the streusel mixture on the bottom of pan.
Mix the apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Place mixture on top of the streusel. Top with remaining streusel.
Bake for 1 hour; cover for the first 20 minutes. Uncover for the remainder of the baking time.
