UNLIMITED LOO: A form of Loo, this page, in which players who are “looed” must put up an amount equal to the pool, which sometimes pyramids to fantastic proportions. A game to be avoided. See Unlimited Loo, this page.

UP AND DOWN THE RIVER: A name frequently applied to Put and Take (this page), but sometimes played on the basis that a player pays or collects an amount equal to the spots on the matched cards, with face cards rating at ten chips each. See this page.

URUGUAYAN CANASTA or URUGUAY: Regular Canasta, this page, but with wild-card melds of three to seven cards allowed. A “wild canasta” (of seven cards) scores 2000 points. The pot, or discard pile, is always frozen in this game.

UTAH: Another name for Cincinnati. See Utah, this page.
