Author's Note

had a flash of an image. A man in a suit sitting on the edge of a hospital bed. Over the next six years that image slowly spun itself out into the story of Martin and Arthur and became His Quiet Agent. I submitted it to my publisher at the time only to have it rejected. It was then rejected by a few other agents and publishers for 'not being a romance', or 'we wouldn't know how to market this'.

In 2017 I decided to self-publish fully expecting absolutely no one to read it. I literally did it as an exercise to teach myself the steps of self-publishing. Instead, people read it. Not all at once but ever so slowly, through word of mouth, His Quiet Agent snowballed.

In the last five years I've gotten a lot of feedback. Most of it positive, a little negative, and many people wanting more. People have especially wanted more of Martin's story. Well, here you have it. I know it took me five years (and a prescription of Ritalin) to get it done, but the first took me six years so if anything, it's ahead of schedule.

This story does go into past death of a parent, a child living in unstable environments with substance abuse taking place, uncomfortable holiday meals with family, and has on page migraines and panic attacks.

It's also a slice of life story mostly about the boys having a nice little vacation together over the winter holidays. So, there's a little angst in the fluff but it's mostly fluff.

Also, the library kids are back and better than ever.
