Colorful palettes make their way into all aspects of my art, in my journals, inspiration books and throughout my studio. At the end of each section in the book, you’ll find ideas and photos of ways to create different color palettes and some of my favorite color combinations.
Use photos to create color palette swatches. I like Photoshop and the colourlovers.com online tool and smartphone app where you can pull colors from your photos to create palettes. Use the colors to inspire your art journal backgrounds or paint colors.
Cut swatches of your paintings and tape them in your journal or to the wall to create a color inspiration board. Paint flowers and washes with watercolor paint inspired by the color palette.

Use the shapes and colors of the seasons to create stamps and patterns on tissue paper. This color palette is inspired by fall leaves.
Cut swatches from your various monoprints and painted backgrounds to create a color palette.
