My graffiti canvases are fabrics smeared with paint and colorful layers of stencils, stamps, freestyle lettering and patterns. Some are as small as 8" × 8" (20cm × 20cm) and others up to 50" × 60" (127cm × 152cm). I use a variety of fabrics from muslin and drill cloth to canvas and Osnaburg.
Spray through stencils. Combs, sequin waste, silk flowers, silk leaves and architecture stencils. Stamp patterns with handmade craft foam stamps and pink foam hair curlers. Print with needlepoint canvas. Brush on white paint, then dye it with a bright color. Spray red through an alphabet stencil. Draw flowers with white dimensional paint.
Paint circles with a foam brush dipped in blue fabric paint. Paint with a thin round brush dipped in India Ink. Paint circles and flowers. Doodle with pink and red dimensional paint. Draw with a black pen.
Spray purple paint through circle stencil. Spray green paint through sequin waste. Cut cardboard shapes and place them under fabric. Rub cardboard shapes with paint on a foam brush. Draw with red dimensional paint. Make marks with green marker.
Draw lines with red dimensional paint on a transparency and print it. Place a texture plate under the fabric and rub with oil pastel. Spray through stencil and print it. Dab orange paint with a foam pouncer. Doodle blue circles. Draw with a black marker and blue dimensional paint onto HeatnBond Lite; fuse it to fabric. Transfer a color laser image with Collage Pauge.
