Serabi (a.k.a. Serandi) and Singa arrived at EFRC in April 2012 from Wolf Run Wildlife Refuge in Nicholasville, Kentucky. They were becoming too much for their keepers.
Singa, the female lion, was originally used as a cute cub in photographs at a roadside zoo. Unfortunately, Singa continued to grow, and like many of the cats we have rescued over the years, this proved to be a problem for her previous owners.
Serabi, Singa’s male companion, was neutered at a very young age and never developed his mane. EFRC is home to both maneless male lions and female lions with manes.
Both felids adapted well to life at EFRC.
