GREEN BANANA SMOOTHIE

Yields 2 large glasses

My first green smoothie came from a recipe by my friend Roxane McNulty. She was one of the initial recipe authors on PlantBasedonaBudget.com, and this is one of my favorite contributions on the whole website. I’ve slightly modified the measurements to bump up the sweetness, but you can find her original version on the website. Thanks again, Roxane, for giving us a tasty, healthy breakfast staple!

Ingredients:

2½–3 sliced frozen bananas

1½ cups spinach or kale, stems removed

1½ cups plant-based milk

Optional Additions:

1 tablespoon flaxseed meal added in step 1

Directions:

1.    In a blender, blend all the ingredients on high until smooth.
