So many authors put their acknowledgments at the back of the book, once you have finished reading the story they’ve written for you, the reader. And I understand why. But I cannot. Because this story wouldn’t be here, now, waiting for you, without the people I need to acknowledge. So here they are.
This book has been ten years in the making. My most special thanks go to my very first editor, Rory Olsen. You believed in this story even when I wasn’t ready to share it with the world. I’m glad I finally took that last step.
Alyssa, thank you for your enthusiasm for this story and your keen eyes. I appreciate you so much.
Thank you to Erika, Linda, and Meg. Your feedback and encouragement were vital to this book. You gave me the confidence to believe readers would want to visit this world with me. I wish I could hug each one of you.
My fellow Escape Room inhabitants, we may have bonded over books, but your friendship has become so much more, a source of light for me. A great big *mwah* to each of you.
And finally, thank you to the inimitable Gina, to my family—my kids, Dani, Matt, Nicole and Riley, Hannah, Mama, and Caleb—and my sweet friend Kelly. Such a short list, but so very important. My world may not extend far and wide, but it is full with all of you.
