Sweater Front and Back

Make 2.

Sweater is crocheted side to side. Measure your child’s chest size before starting. You can inc or dec rows on back and front if necessary, keeping an even row count.

Foundation row: Ch 34 (36, 38, 40). Work 1 dc in third ch from hook, 1 dc in each ch across, ch 2, turn—32 (34, 36, 38) sts.

Row 1: Starting with first st, * work 4 dc tbl, 4 dc tfl, rep from * 4 times more, 4 dc tbl, ch 2, turn.

Row 2: Rep row 1 for 20 (22, 24, 26) times more—22 (24, 26, 28) rows—fasten off.

Sleeves

Make 2.

Foundation row: Ch 34 (36, 38, 40). Work 1 dc in third ch from hook, 1 dc in each ch across, ch 2, turn—32 (34, 36, 38) sts.

Row 1: Starting with first st, * work 4 dc tbl, 4 dc tfl, rep from * 4 times more, 4 dc tbl, ch 2, turn.

Row 2: Rep row 1 for 5 (7, 7, 9) times more—7 (9, 9, 11) rows—
fasten off.

Construction

1. Turn front and back of sweater vertically, and sew shoulder seams together, using tapestry needle.

2. Fold each sleeve in half, RS out, and align with center of shoulder seam. Sew each sleeve to sweater.

3. Sew sleeve and sweater side seams.

4. Weave in loose ends.
