Author’s Note
Richard Dadd’s feelings and beliefs were never actually recorded, other than brief observations by doctors at Bedlam and Broadmoor; my creation of them is supposition. It is a fact, however, that many of Dadd’s paintings are either actually, or presumed, lost, and the story of The Girl in the Green Glass Mirror is built around a fictional hypothesis of what might have happened to them. The Fairy Feller’s Master-Stroke is kept by Tate Britain in London; so is The Child’s Problem.
