Allowing Outside Influences
You can not only use color, herbs, flowers, and miscellaneous items you never thought had any magical meanings, but you can also draw on other forces to enhance your intent.
This includes working on your magic during certain Lunar phases or on certain days of the week and using color at different times of the month or week, especially if you are working with candles. We do this to tap into the energies that surround us and use those energies as vessels to manifest our reality. Tapping into these energies is not as hard as it sounds, and it gives your intention that extra magical oomph that you can use no matter what you need or want.
The Moon and its Phases
Working with Lunar phases is beautiful. At times, I find myself counting the days until the next Full Moon so I can do magic, and while I’m counting, I’m already visualizing the intent I want to send out. By doing so, I visualize my intent to the Universe for days, sometimes weeks. I like to think that I’m halfway to my intent when the actual Full Moon makes its presence known.
The Moon governs our planting seasons, tides, and emotions. The Moon is our spiritual Goddess and to her we send our intent. I have always visualized her as the Earth’s caretaker and the one who sits by the side of sick children. She listens to our sadness and our cries for help. The Moon is truly the only one who understands the pain we go through, and she brings comfort to our unanswered questions.
The Moon is the crone who watches over us, the mother who gives birth to all things around us, and the maiden who grants wishes if you believe in what she is capable of accomplishing. She lets us tap into her energies as many times as we care to do so and the good thing about it is that it is all free of charge.
The Moon is the only element in the sky that I know of that changes on a daily basis. The Moon influences the ocean tides, planting, and fertility. During a Full Moon, more crimes are committed, changing animal behavior has been observed, and sleep deprivation has been reported.
The Moon is auspicious and mysterious and a favorable asset to our magical needs in conjunction with natural energies to cause an effect. Let the Moon be your guide to fruition and utilize it to its fullest potential.
Full Moon
The Full Moon is bright and round; you can see in the dark without light and driving at night is a much more pleasant experience. This is when the Moon has its greatest potential. All magical workings can be done during the Full Moon, be they positive, banishing, or whatever your needs are.
Waning Moon
Between the Full Moon and the New Moon, the Moon is waning; it is starting to decrease in size. This is a good time to work against any type of negative forces, such as banishing unwanted energies or eliminating self-doubt, your noisy neighbor, or your nagging boss.
New Moon
The New Moon cannot be seen; it is hidden from us all but still there. This is a great time for visualizing a new relationship and the beginnings of new things, especially things we’ve always wanted that were previously out of reach. Use this Moon phase to create your wishes and for them to prosper.
Waxing Moon
Between the New Moon and the Full Moon, the Moon is waxing; it is starting to increase in size. As it grows to its full potential, so can you. This is a good time to work on enhancing your needs and wants such as health or wealth because as the Moon grows so do your needs.
Days of the Week and the Planets
I dearly love working with the days of the week; they give my spells and intentions that little extra get-up-and-go that I need to manifest them. Make the days of the week a part of your daily ritual, from applying makeup to dedicating a glass of water to spirit.
The days of the week work in conjunction with the planets. Each planet has its own personality according to ancient planetary charts. The planets are influenced by the days of the week in which they govern. The planets, the Moon, and the Sun generate their essence for health, money, and happiness. Harvesting their energy will get you quicker to the intent you wish to come to fruition.
If you want to do a home cleaning, look at the day of the week that is best suited to this task, and do it on that day. I take all my magical baths according to the days of the week to tap into the specific energy.
Write the meanings of the days of the week on your calendar. This way, you’ll get used to which day of the week is good for what intent. Further enhance your needs if you use the day of the week’s corresponding color.
Sunday/Sun/Yellow
Sunday is the money and healing day. Use this day for those who need a little bit of healing, not only from physical ailments but also from spiritual ones. Do your money-need spells or intentions on this day. Sunday is also a great day for growth and financial development.
Use this day to find the strength within to see the things you want without feeling shy or uncomfortable in telling someone all that you wish to accomplish.
Monday/Moon/White
Monday is the spiritual day of the week; the day of attainment and discovery. Tap into the universal forces such as your deities or spiritual guides and ask them to guide you and enlighten your future path. Use this day for psychic workings and meditation to communicate with spirit.
Use the Moon phases to enhance your banishing and acquisitions of the things that are important to you.
Tuesday/Mars/Red
Tuesday is the day of leadership, strength, and courage. This is the day when we can combat those nasty negative energies with force and conviction. Mars and its day make us strong and more capable within ourselves to fight for what we believe in, and to endure for the rest of the week. Don’t be shy in harnessing this energy, which is out there for the taking, to find a new, more sure and poised individual. Having the strength to look into life and not be scared of what it has to offer is something we all wish to have, and knowing you have this planet and day behind you is reassuring.
Wednesday/Mercury/Purple
Wednesday is the study day, not only academically, but also to study the person you are, or are becoming, by communicating your needs to those around you. Use this day for all your communication endeavors, from declaring your love to someone, communicating with your boss when she or he has been unreasonable, or simply opening communications with your family. This is the day you confess your wrongdoings and accept their ramifications.
This is a great day for you to work on your family and its happiness. This is the day to ask your boss for a promotion or a raise. You can also be true to yourself and express all your frustrations to those around you.
Thursday/Jupiter/Blue
This day of the week helps us not to abandon personal goals and aspirations. This day cements our ideas on paper and aids legal matters. If documents need to be signed for a favorable outcome, this is the day to do it. This is a day to go to court and fight against the world with a clear head for a positive outcome. Choose Thursday for any business ventures that have been out of reach, such as signing a contract, family matters, divorces, or any type of personal settlements.
Thursdays are good not only for legal matters but also for personal goals and the acquisition of money and riches.
Friday/Venus/Pink
Love day is Friday, which is totally governed by Venus, the love Goddess. Work on your relationship to make it more solid and binding. Light a candle for those in spirit to give them love and light on their journey.
On Fridays, do love spells; doing attraction spells on this day will result in a more positive outcome. Use this day for self-love and discovery for you and your future. This is the day you mend things with loved ones, such as lovers or family members—with the brother, mother, or father who you hold a grudge against for some past happening you haven’t been able to forgive.
Saturday/Saturn/Black
Saturday is the day to be rid of negative energy and a terrific day to combat dark forces and spirits. I love my magical workings on Saturdays because I know the strength in my magic doubles, and I use this to my advantage.
Make this day your “banish” day. Use your mop and buckets with your banishing essences or herbs to clean the house from negativity, while leaving positive energy in your path.
If you want to get rid of something in your life, this is the day to do it. Get rid of the negativity that is not letting you move forward to the next stage of your life or preventing you from making decisions because of your lack of positivity.
