Blending Energies

There is a way to mix and blend energies together to cause a needed effect, and this is called the art of spell casting. Billions around the world unknowingly exercise some sort of spell through prayer. It doesn’t matter your faith, religion, or cultural background, a prayer is just a positive visualization to communicate with spirits or a deity for health, money, well-being, or wishing relatives, family, and friends health and happiness.

We witches like to add a little bit of this herb or a little drop of that essential oil to communicate with spirit to change our circumstances for a favorable outcome by conducting a ritual known as a spell. I divide a spell into three categories:

Spell: The art of visualizing your needs to the Universe using words or chants and summoning universal forces or spirit to aid you with your intent.

Tools: Herbs, essences, color, Moon phases, days of the week, your athame, goblet, candles, or crystals. As you gather these tools for your spell, you’re already focusing on your intent.

Rituals: The strength behind your intent. This is when you send it all to the Universe with feeling and belief, such as verbalizing, lighting candles, or simply focusing on all the above in a meditative state.

When you work with magic, it can take you back to a time when magic was very much tolerated and sought out by people, mainly for the manipulation of others. But humans have surpassed all that negativity and have evolved to a much gentler and less hateful society for the most part. We are more concerned with our own spiritual advancement and use magic mostly for our betterment.

There is one thing about spells; they are fun to put together. Spells are old as time and exciting to do, and their outcome is a mystery until they unfold. But let me assure you, they are easy to put together when you match energies with the intent you want to manifest.

When blending energies, make sure you have the right tools for your spell. If you are doing a love spell, you can’t use healing herbs unless the spell requires healing love. If you are doing a spell for money, you don’t want to do it on a Tuesday using red candles, but on a Thursday or a Sunday when the money energy is at its peak using green candles.

The list below includes intentions and the tools needed for that intention. Use this as a quick guide until you are comfortable using the items in your pantry and household to put energies together to cause an effect.
